Statement of School Philosophy
The goal of Crossroads Christian Schools is to enable children to view life from God's perspective because He is Truth; all that we do and teach is based on His perspective as He has communicated it to us through (1) His Creation, (2) His Son, Jesus Christ, and (3) His Holy Word, the Bible.
We believe that God created the world in a perfect state and that man enjoyed a whole and perfect relationship with God. Because of man's sin, he became separated from God and his relationship with God was destroyed. God's love for man was so great that He provided for man's redemption through His own Son. It is only through Christ's death and resurrection that man's relationship with God is restored to wholeness. By confessing his sins and accepting the Lordship of Jesus Christ in his life, man experiences change in his life, and can fellowship freely with God. It is God's Holy Spirit who empowers this life change and enables man to become increasingly Christ-like as He guides him into all Truth through the Scriptures.
Children learn by observing the lives of their parents and teachers. We believe that God has established the home and family as the primary means of educating a child. We seek to serve parents who share our goals and philosophy by assisting them in this task of education. By working closely together, parents and teachers can effectively enhance the development of their children in every aspect of their being: the spiritual, the emotional, the intellectual, the physical, the moral, and the creative.
Many parents pursue a private, Christian education for their children even though they would not consider themselves "Christians" or even "religious." Their common desire is to provide their children with some sort of moral and ethical foundation on which they can build their lives. Having their child as part of our Christian school can give us many opportunities to present the transforming power of the gospel to such families. Through a loving and caring relationship and by example, the faculty and staff of CCS are committed to seeing the Kingdom of God established in every home with Christ as Lord. When this occurs, families are more able to function as God has designed them to which, in turn, has a positive effect on their children.
We believe that the purpose of Christian education is to lead children to a restored whole relationship with God, to train them to live their lives according to the Godly principles and values as set forth in His infallible Word, and to develop their skills so they can make effective contributions to society. It is our desire to provide an environment that will allow for excellence in fulfilling this three-fold purpose. God's Truth, as revealed in His Word, serves as the basis for each area of study. Teachers seek to integrate Biblical truth into each subject being taught. We view the pursuit of knowledge as more than the collection of information--we seek the understanding of the information as it leads to wisdom and the practical application of living Christ-like lives to the glory of God.
