McKenna DeWit

7th & 8th Grade Math Facilitator

B.S. – California Baptist University

Ms. de Wit has a love for God, math, and helping middle school learners. She has been serving with the Crossroads Junior High Ministry for over four years. She has a passion for seeing learners thrive spiritually, emotionally and academically. In her free time she loves to try out different coffee shops in Southern California with friends, read, and explore nature through walks and camping.

Ms. De Wit is passionate about helping learners find joy in learning math. She believes the classroom and the school are places for academic growth, as well as personal and spiritual growth. Her goal as an educator is to create a space for learners to feel comfortable to share ideas, collaborate to solve problems, and build lasting community. Ms. De Wit’s goal in education is ultimately to direct learners towards the Lord. She emphasizes that learning that God is the ultimate mathematician brings about a greater appreciation and awe for mathematics.

What does a God-first School mean to her? Being a God-First School means bringing in a special component of love and care into education. With the Lord at the center of all we do, we are able to love learners and staff well and be a community that is unshakable. Ensuring learners know the love of God and who He is is a priority to her. Her adoration for Jesus drives every activity in the classroom and encounter outside of the classroom.

“23 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.” Colossians 3:23-24
