Grandfriends Day

Grandfriend (noun): A family member or friend who finds your child to be just as adorable as you do.

Give your grandfriends another reason to love your learner as they check out a snapshot of a day in the life of their favorite Preschooler or Elementary kid, complete with cookies and beverages! All Grandparents and Grandfriends of our preschool learners are invited to attend!

This is an open house style event where you can roam and visit the learners’ classrooms, enjoy baked goods and coffee, have your picture taken, and visit our Fall Book Fair.

We are looking forward to this special day, and we hope you are too!

Preschool Grandfriends Day

Wednesday, September 13
Mon-Fri and MWF Learners
10:00AM – 11:00 AM
*M-F learners please choose only 1 day to attend

Thursday, September 14
Mon-Fri and TTH Learners

Elementary Grandfriends Day (TK-5)

Friday, September 15
10:30AM – 12:00PM
Modified day for TK-5th grade only, After School Care will remain available

TK-5 Day-Of Details

Here are a few important details to help you and grandfriends prepare:

Schedule:

  • 10:30 am – Gates open to Grandfriends
  • 10:45 am – Crafting starts in classrooms
  • 11:00 am – Book Fair & treats
  • 11:45 am – Learners return to class to prepare for modified day dismissal

If you would like your Grandfriend to take your learner(s) home at dismissal time, please be sure your Grandfriend is on your approved list to pick up in FACTS, and have your Grandfriend arrive early to check-in to the Front Office to receive their pink slip. Your grandfriend will provide this pink slip to the Facilitator and they will then release your learner for the day! Update your pick-up list here! Daycare will be available as usual.

If your child’s Grandfriend is unable to join us, your Facilitator’s Assistant will host an “on campus field trip” to the Book Fair complete with cookies! In an effort to not overwhelm our campus with unnecessary traffic during this event, we ask that parents not join for Grandfriends Day.

Cookies and waters donation on September 14

We need all sorts of volunteers to help make Grandfriends Day beautiful, and lots of refreshments donations to make it sweet!

 If you’re able, we would love to have you donate waters and store-bought, pre-packaged cookies. We ask that cookies are only store-bought and pre-packaged for this event. Since we have so many children with peanut allergies, we are asking for some cookies to be “peanut/nut free.” Please do not bring any ghosts or Halloween designs. 

You may drop off your cookies and waters marked “Grandfriends Day” in the Elementary office on Thursday, September 14, to help us prepare for this event. Sign up below to donate and/or volunteer!
