M.Ed. – California State University, Fullerton
Angela Hertica is beginning her 6th year at CCS and will be joining our Curriculum Development, Instruction, Assessment, and Intervention team with Mrs. Porsche Jackson. Also joining their team is Mrs. Brianne Fosher in the position of Intervention (RtI) coach.
After years of teaching in public schools, God answered a prayer for Mrs. Hertica. She grew up attending a Christian elementary school, and wanted to return to Christian education. After almost 20 years, God called her to Crossroads, providing the way that only how He can!
Mrs. Hertica’s educational background is outstanding, which qualifies her as an expert in this educational position. She has 22 years teaching experience, both in public and private school. She received her Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an additional Reading Specialist Certification from Cal State Fullerton.
During her time in public school, She was part of a school district team that prioritized standards in grade level, POD level, and K-6th teams. That was followed by writing three Language Arts Units for use in the district’s first grade classrooms. She also taught an Accelerated Language Academy class for English Language Learners.
Over the course of her career, she has been part of various schools’ leadership and SST (Student Study Teams) teams; part of a Student Incentive Committee, and spend over five years as a 100 Mile Club Coach. She has been trained in RtI (Response to Intervention), Explicit Direct Instruction, Thinking Maps, assessment development and writing, and Research Based Lesson Design.
At Crossroads Christian School, Mrs. Hertica wrote benchmark assessments and created data collection material for our Kindergarten Team. She assisted her team in implementing Collaborative 21st Century Learning methods by developing and creating collaborative projects that spanned the content levels. She also created posters for Reading Instruction, Science, and 21st Century Learning.
Mrs. Hertica is excited to be a part of our CCS Curriculum Development, Instruction, Assessment, & Intervention Team and is looking forward to the opportunity to use those talents God has blessed her with to support our Facilitators, Learners, and Families.
